Bramalea Woods, the best
residential community in Brampton, is ideally located close to a major
shopping mall, parks, recreation facilities, daycare, library, public
transportation, plus all other big-city services, and just one traffic
light from Highway 410.
Bramalea Woods consists of detached and semi-detached homes, luxurious
condominium townhomes, and impressive condominium apartments on 11 acres
of beautifully landscaped grounds, situated between Queen Street and
Howden Blvd., Dixie Road and Laurelcrest Street (and homes surrounding
Laurelcrest).
Many
Bramalea Woods homes are surrounded by forest and parklands, and the
natural landscape continues across Laurelcrest Street, with groves
of mature trees, walking trails, and beautiful Parr Lake. Nearby
residents enjoy walking the dog, feeding the ducks, or just sitting by
the lake and watching the wildlife.
The first homes were built in the late 1960's in the "H"
section (streets beginning with the letter "H") on the west
side of Dixie Road. Over 100 single-family detached homes of all sizes
and descriptions were constructed on huge treed lots. Acres of
greenspace surround these homes, allowing the families to enjoy a
cottage-like setting right in the heart of the city. They are considered
prime properties, offering buyers the best of Brampton.
In the late 1970's up to the mid 1980's, over 200 detached homes were
built, mostly two-storey, the majority in the L" section, some
bordering on a forest. The homes were built by Wycliffe Homes and other
quality builders, many on 75 ft. x 126 ft. lots or larger. Wycliffe
Homes is a renowned builder of distinctive family homes of superior
quality in choice locations throughout Ontario.
Ten
semi-detached homes were built on the north side of Lambeth Street, near
Laurelcrest, in the early eighties.
Also around this time, a varied group of attractive homes were built on
and surrounding Laurelcrest Street. Some Laurelcrest detached homes back
onto Parr Lake, with breathtaking views and acres and acres of walking
trails, with many mid-size semi-detached and detached homes nearby. The
Grand Finale of Laurelcrest low-rise condominium apartments, on 11 acres
of landscaped grounds with an outdoor swimming pool, and 24-hour
gatehouse, on the corner of Queen and Laurelcrest Streets, consist of 1-
bedroom and 2-bedroom suites, they also are part of the Bramalea Woods
residential community.
In 1990, 54 luxury condominium townhomes were built on Lancewood
Crescent, near Laurelcrest, some backing onto a forested ravine. The
towhhomes on the ravine have two walkouts overlooking the woods, from
which you can sit outdoors and enjoy nature's greenscape. There is a
sliding-door walkout from the above-ground basement, and a walkout to
the balcony from the main floor.
These solidly-built townhomes all have central air and provide luxury
and comfort in a serene setting. The condo homeowners live a carefree
lifestyle in beautifully maintained, landscaped surroundings. The homes
are spacious, ranging from 1300 to 1600 sq. ft., most have 3 bedrooms
and 2-1/2 baths, some have 2 bedrooms with their own ensuites. Most have
a large master bedroom with a 4-piece ensuite and a walk-in closet, and
a family room with a gas fireplace. All of today's most desirable
features are here. And, pets are welcome (with some restrictions).
Completing this community, several 2-storey executive homes were
built in 2006 on Hillside Drive and Locksley Place, near Dixie Road.
Bramalea Woods has been my home since 1981, and it's a great place to
live. Whether you are a first-time buyer or a family needing more space
and are looking for that special home, let me show you the homes
currently for sale here. Your dream home might just be in Bramalea
Woods!
